The second chapter of the docufilm “I ragazzi delle scorte” is dedicated to the memory of Antonio Montinaro, chief bodyguard of Judge Giovanni Falcone, who was killed in the Capaci massacre along with magistrate Francesca Morvillo and officers Vito Schifani and Rocco Dicillo.
Antonio’s story is retraced through the words of his wife, Tina Montinaro, and his colleague and friend, Dario Falvo.
The youth of Tina, Antonio, and Dario unfolds through moments of joy and hardship, with love and friendship growing stronger—until that tragic day, May 23, 1992.
Both Dario and Tina chose to respond to the massacre by staying: Dario remained in the police force, continuing the work Antonio had taught him; Tina decided not to leave Palermo, the city she and Antonio had chosen to build their life and family together.
